A review on stretch marks
Stretch marks are skin striations that usually occur at puberty, during pregnancy, during endocrine diseases such as Cushing’s syndrome, during general or local corticosteroid therapy, during weight loss or fast weight gain.

They frequently appear as scars on the breasts, hips, buttocks or stomach in women, and more frequently on the back in men. These marks start as red or purple lines when they are still recent, and usually fade to a pearly white as they mature. Although these lines are not a serious medical problem, they can be a significant aesthetic concern.

Precautions for use of the RED PEEL TCA 35% peel
A TCA peel can have a positive effect on your patient’s skin, removing signs of acne and ageing. However, there are certain circumstances in which you should not perform a TCA peel. Do not choose this treatment if the patient:

– has damaged skin or has recently had facial surgery

– is sunburned

– has spots caused by the herpes simplex virus (HSV-1)

– is pregnant or nursing

– is on isotretinoin treatment (and 6 months after stopping treatment)

– has recently undergone radiotherapy or chemotherapy

It is recommended that the patient’s skin be prepared for the TCA 35% peel by suggesting the use of a glycolic acid or lactic acid product on the skin one week before the RED PEEL session. For example: tonic lotions or creams from the NEOSTRATA brand. These products can also be used between sessions (during the phase when the skin does not peel).

When applying the RED PEEL TCA 35% trichloroacetic acid peel to the face, it is important to protect certain sensitive areas of the face. Apply Vaseline to the area around the lips, nostrils and eyes with a cotton bud.

Wear latex gloves when applying the RED PEEL TCA 35% peel.

The application of a healing cream is mandatory after a TCA 35% peel.

It is recommended that practitioners start with a 15% TCA peel to protect the patient from any possible allergy or hyperreaction to the chemical power of TCA. Incorrect dosage of TCA can expose the patient to skin damage.

Chemical peeling: definition
The word peeling comes from the English verb “to peel”. By exfoliating the skin, the cellular activity of collagen and elastic fibres is stimulated, which increases the elasticity of the tissues, removes pigmented spots and refines the skin texture
